I cannot believe four months have passed since my little munchkin was born. We are growing more and more in love with her every day, and its hard to believe our lives without her. She has gone from our little bobble head that slept all the time to a fun-loving bowl of energy that wants to sit up (HATES lying down unless its time to sleep), loves to laugh and talk, and (luckily) still sleeps a lot! We are so grateful to God for Anne Louise and all the joy she has brought to us!
Today, Anne Louise had her four month checkup at the peds office, and it went very well. She now weighs 15 pounds and 1.5 ounces, which is in the 75th percentile, and she’s 25 inches long, which is also in the 75th percentile. We say it all the time, but she’s SUCH a growing girl! Anne Louise did NOT like her shots, and that was tough on Patrick and me! Of course, we harassed the doctor with a boatload of questions, but the most exciting news is that we got the go-ahead to take Anne Louise in the pool and even the lake as long as its not too hot (and as long as she doesn’t try to drink the water). This could be the best summer yet.
In keeping with the earlier post tracking Anne Louise’s development, here are her four month stats:
MONTH 4
Bedtime: 8:00 pm (8:30 if we are just having too much fun with her)
Hours Slept at Night: at least 10 straight, sometimes 12. Since starting the transition with “school” (aka day care), she’s not been as consistent with her wake times – once it was 6:30 and the next morning 8:30, but she seems to be getting up around 7 or 8ish on average). Still sleeping through the night though, which is great!
Favorite Daytime Activity: At school, she loves the books, the music and the mobile. At home, she’s really into her excersaucer (which a friend has dubbed the neglect-a-saucer because its so easy to put the baby in there while you do other things). But AL loves it! Some pictures are posted below. She’s also VERY talkative these days and is most vocal in the morning after she eats and in the car. Her squeals are quite possibly the cutest thing in America. Also, Anne Louise is a big fan of "My Baby Can Read,” which are these videos my mom bought her (my mom is notorious for “as seen on tv” presents) and is the only TV she is allowed to watch! In the evening, she’s traded her swing for her Bumbo seat, which we put on the kitchen floor because she loves watching me cook dinner.
Biggest Milestones in Month Four: Starting school has been the biggest event this month (she’s gone about 4 hours every day this week and has done very well), in addition to her first nights away from us – once with Aunt Caroline and once with my good friend Allison (which were really more of a big treat for Patrick and me). Anne Louise has also started grabbing and holding onto things, which means she’s developing coordination (and if she gets that from me, poor child has a long way to go). She also loves putting things (including her fingers and sometimes her whole hand) into her mouth! Anne Louise rolled over all by herself for the first time this month, too, although she pretty much hated it and started screaming as soon as she realized she had self-imposed tummy time!
Nicknames (we didn’t have this last time, but thought we’d add it in since we have a few now): Munchkin, Little Munchkin, Pumpkin Face, and sometimes I call her Monkey when she’s squirming around all over the place!

Time flies when you’re having fun, and these past four months have been a BLUR!! WE LOVE YOU ANNE LOUISE!
