Happy Easter!

The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.  He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.   Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you."

Matthew 28: 5-7

We had a wonderful Easter weekend.   Saturday, we had breakfast at the Hardisons (Anne Louise devoured lemon ricotta pancakes AND bacon), and then we headed to our church’s Easter Egg Hunt in Latta Park.  Although we missed the egg hunt (too busy having seconds on pancakes at Luke and Misty’s), Anne Louise had a great time playing with the My Gym stuff and swinging on the swings.  DSC_0173 DSC_0161 DSC_0164 After the Easter Egg Hunt, we headed up to the boat for the afternoon with Aunt CC (Caroline).  Luckily, the life jacket from last year still fits!!DSC_0155DSC_0177DSC_0176 Our little munchkin was so excited on the boat and enjoying the awesome weather, that she forgot to take a nap:)  Luckily, we had no plans Saturday night, so she got to bed plenty early.

Sunday, we woke up, had breakfast together, and then Anne Louise busted into her Easter Baskets.  She really loved the stuffed bunny from Grandi and the new outfit from Granny.  The Easter Bunny had left her some bath crayons, some other bath toys, some yummy sweets, and some hair bows.  DSC_0192 DSC_0185 DSC_0186 DSC_0189 DSC_0191 Then, it was time to put on the new dress from Aunt Gogo (Joan) that came straight from the Macy’s in California where the original Gogo (my great-grandmother) used to send us our Easter and Christmas dresses.  Church was wonderful, and we came back home just in time to practice hunting Easter eggs and take some family photos.  DSC_0291 DSC_0199 DSC_0200 DSC_0201 DSC_0203 DSC_0205 DSC_0208 DSC_0210 DSC_0233 DSC_0240 DSC_0242 DSC_0244 DSC_0256 DSC_0281 Then it was time to head to the Ross Wilsons’ house for Easter lunch.  Lunch was delicious (no surprise there), but the highlight for Anne Louise was playing with cousin Hill and swinging in the hammock.  DSC_0313 DSC_0300 DSC_0304 Needless to say, her nap lasted 3 hours Sunday afternoon!!!  Sunday night, Nana came over with an Easter basket full of goodies, and Anne Louise had a great time opening each of the eggs and saying MMMmmmm each time as she took out the little teddy bear graham crackers and ate them.  It was a beautiful, super relaxing Easter weekend.  Anne Louise’s school was closed Friday and Monday for Easter.  Aunt Denise and Hill were kind enough to watch Anne Louise Friday morning while we worked, and I was able to take off Friday afternoon and switch my Flex Day for Monday, so its been a nice little mini-Spring Break for us!!  Tomorrow, its back to the grind with school and work!

I also wanted to include some pictures of last weekend, when some of our friends’ hosted an Easter party with a Bouncy House, the Easter Bunny, and an Easter Egg Hunt (that Anne Louise missed because she was napping . . . we’re not too good with the group hunts, here, as you can tell).  She had a great time in the bouncy house, but was not too sure what to think about the Easter Bunny (which was MUCH better though than her performance for Santa Claus this past Christmas). easter bunny 1 AL and Easter Bunny DSC_0035 DSC_0042 DSC_0045 DSC_0047 DSC_0055 DSC_0060 DSC_0061 DSC_0064 DSC_0068 DSC_0069 DSC_0070

so fun!! i don't blame AL about the Easter Bunny. My Mom and I were talking when I was home a couple weeks ago and saw him in the mall - totally scary. It would be much better if he actually looked like a soft, comfortable stuffed animal instead of those big scary eyes. Anyway, sad you guys weren't here, but glad you had such a good family weekend!!
