Happy Nine Month Birthday Munchkin!

happy halloween

If someone could PLEASE figure out a way to make time stop, the Magees would surely appreciate it!  Not only is there never enough time in the day to complete the tasks that need to be completed, but more importantly, time is flying by so fast that our little Anne Louise is gonna be a teenager before we know it.  (Side note – she’s practicing being a teenager these days by sleeping late . . . especially on weekends and holidays.  Bonus Points for AL!!)   Anne Louise had her nine month check-up today, and although they ran out of flu shots this morning before her appointment, it was otherwise a great report from the doctor!

Anne Louise’s Nine Month Stats

Height: 28.5 inches  (75th percentile) Weight: 19.5 lbs (75th percentile) Head: Can’t remember exactly, but its 90th percentile

Bedtime: We shoot for closer to 7:30 these days, if we can make it.  Between dinner, bathtime, and a bottle (which the dr. said we can start cutting out), its tough, but we are having to wake her up in the morning at 7 AM for school (work), so we figured we’d move her bedtime up 30 mins earlier since it seems like she needs more sleep.  She’s pretty good at getting herself up by 7:30, which is great in case someone forgets to set the alarm (that never happens – ha!).

Favorite Activity: Pulling up to a standing position.  She’s crawling all over the place, but that is only a mechanism to get her to a place to pull up:  couch, ottoman, chair at the doctor’s office that could possibly topple over on top of you – it doesn’t matter.  She’s not discerning.  She also loves playing with keys, real or toy.  And if you set them down to put her in her carseat, be prepared from some wailing.

Biggest Milestone in Month Nine: Teeth!  Finally, our little munchkin can now munch on some food.  One Saturday, she was trying to put a piece of paper in her mouth, and I reached in to grab it.  Lo and behold – I felt two razor-sharp-as-nails teeth!   We didn’t have much warning (no fussy nights or anything), so I hope that trend continues!

Favorite Foods:  She is starting to eat more table food, which we LOVE (makes eating out a little easier – in fact, her faves are sushi and Mexican, because she gets fresh avocado there!).  Its so fun to watch her pick up foods and put them in her mouth.  Her favorites are still the green veggies, and her new favorite is chicken.  We’ve started tearing it up into itty-bitty pieces, and she can’t get enough!  This child, however, is a girl after her dad’s heart.  One day I got a call at work from AL’s teacher Miss Raven asking me if it was ok to give Anne Louise a vanilla wafer.  Apparently, while the other kids were having their snack at the table, Anne Louise was trying to crawl up ON THE TABLE to get to the cookies.  I said it was fine, and we haven’t looked back since – Anne Louise LOVES snack time at school now!

Here are some pictures of Anne Louise in her “chair” for her nine month photo shoot (and some others showing off her “standing in the crib” trick, which will soon be remedied by lowering the crib AGAIN, as well as some pictures of AL dressed up in a snuggly Halloween outfit, which was perfect for yesterday’s cold and rainy weather).
