The Magees: Good Morning Jesus!

As we explained in our last post, Anne Louise is a big fan of Jesus. She says hello to him every morning (or at least to the sign at school with a picture of Jesus on it), and she sometimes asks us if Jesus is in the ambulance (I’m not sure of the reason why she thinks He’s in there, but the correct response is technically yes). If you ask HER where Jesus is, Anne Louise will say “Everywhere. And in my heart.” Wow. It doesn’t get much better than that. This year, she definitely learned about Easter egg hunt excitement and the Easter Bunny (whom she does not love), but it was neat to hear her say that Easter is about Jesus. We only pray that she’ll continue to remember that and learn to know and understand it the same way her parents do.

On to the pictures. In order for this post to be on time, we have to skip some photo-editing. BUT if there was ever a post to skip photo editing, THIS is the one. In fact, if it wasn’t Easter, I think I would call this post “You Have Matching PJs, How Hard Is It To Get a Picture?” The pictures cover everything – Easter egg hunting (we had one in the neighborhood, one at school (sadly, its not “shoulk” anymore – she says it correctly), and one for church. The girls loved their Easter baskets (that the silly Easter bunny hid around the house), and we all enjoyed family time on the boat and at Nana’s house (who is recovering VERY well from her hip surgery, I might add).

Uptown Church Easter Egg Hunt at Latta Park – Anne Louise was super excited when we got there and saw all the eggs. Since they were roped off, she knew she couldn’t start until they said it was time. She kept walking around going, “Ready. Set. Go. Mama time to stawt?” Before the hunt, they gathered the kids to hear the true story of Easter – Anne Louise did well sitting and listening. As you can see from the picture, Baby Spencer was not quite as captivated by the egg hunt excitement as AL.

Boat Day after the Egg Hunt. – After naps, CC, the girls, and I headed up to the lake to meet Daddy for a “Sunset Cruise” and dinner. Spencer did well on her first boat trip, although she didn’t LOVE being hot in the lifejacket. She was fine when we were moving, but not so great sitting still. Can’t blame her. Anne Louise, on the other hand, didn’t want to take hers off. She wore it into the restaurant and honestly, probably would’ve slept in it if we hadn’t made her leave it at the boat.

Easter Sunday – First, the baskets. AL did not love the fact that the Easter Bunny had been in our house. In fact, she was straight petrified. After she found her basket, she didn’t seem to mind too much (apparently, her love can be “bought” with treats – haha). The EB brought Spencer some books, a bucket, a sun hat, and some candy to share with Mama and Daddy. Anne Louise got lots of big girl panties (she’s 90% of the way there), some candy (which she begged to eat for breakfast), a color/writing pad, some crayons, a bucket, and some other goodies. After baskets, we were off to church, then lunch, then Nana’s house, then LONG naps for the girls. It was a great day! The Easter Bunny also brought the girls matching PJs. You would think that would make an EASY and cute photo op. Not so much. Our little Monkey and Buggy were all over the place, as you can see. You can also see how much Spencer absolutely ADORES her big sister. I just love it. (In the spirit of Christ dying for our sins, I’ll go ahead and confess my “sin” that yes, I had to bribe Anne Louise with candy in order to get her to get close to Spencer for a picture.)Off to church in our matching pink and green dresses from Gogo.
