We got a good report at the specialist today and some cool "4D" pictures. Its 4D because the ultrasound takes the waves and then somehow the computer can translate those to "create" the fourth dimension and show an idea of what the baby looks like in 3D. I don't understand it all, but the picture here is one of the ones in "4D." Its not super clear, but to the left is the face and her arm is across her face. Her face is not actually deformed like that -- that's the result of the imaging, the placenta and amniotic fluid, and the computer-generated 4th dimension.
As for Herbie, she is doing fine. Everything is functioning well, and the specialist thinks that the fluid is stable, but maybe even a little less than a week ago! He couldn't say for certain, but said that's what it looks like -- there did not appear to be any additional fluid, so that's the important thing. The monitoring will continue, but it was nothing but good news today. We are really grateful for this wonderful news and answered prayer that she gets to stay put for a while longer!
We have received many of your messages about Melvyn, and we are so appreciative of the support yall have given us over these past couple of days. His death came so unexpectedly, which I think makes it extra difficult. But one thing is for sure - He knew we loved him, and we knew he loved us. I've been compiling some special memories of Melvyn - Melvynisms if you will - and I'll post those soon. Thanks for your prayers for the baby and our family. We need them and appreciate them more than you know!
