We went to Virginia Beach (or “Whir-ginia Beach” as Anne Louise calls it) this past weekend for the MMR (mini-MageeFamily-Reunion). Instead of the normal week-long trip every two years, this was an “off year” weekend trip . . . and a fast one at that. We hit the road late Friday night (after Patrick WON a golf tournament that he played in with a friend), and by “late Friday night,” I mean after dinner, after baths, and after PJs. The girls did great, as did Patrick who drove the entire way. We arrived safe and sound at 2 AM. Saturday and Sunday were spent on the Chesapeake Bay with the Fam . . . Grandi (and Granny who came for dinner), cousins (they are all “favorite cousins”), aunts and uncles. We had a great time visiting and swimming in the bay where Patrick used to spend summers with his family years ago (his grandparents Ma and Ba had a place right across the street where the kids would stay for days, sometimes weeks). Super cool to watch the girls play there, he said. And PLAY is an understatement . . . Spencer loved splashing in the water, and our little fish Anne Louise couldn’t get enough of the ocean, the pool, the sand, you name it. Because the bay doesn’t have waves, AL was able to “swim free” with Harper-Ninny-Baby {I love that AL still calls Harper that} for hours . . . literally. It was awesome. We failed to get some good family shots, but I did get some super cute ones of the girls . . . I’ll save the potential Christmas card ones for later, but these are absolutely some of my favorites – couldn’t you just eat those precious girls UP!!
