We have been busy. Too busy. Too busy to take pictures. Too busy to edit through the pictures. Too busy to do blogs. Too busy to relax at the beach . . . oh wait, we did that . . . for a week. Nevertheless, the Magees have had an excellent start to the summer, and unfortunately, its almost over. Once again, the blog (summer edition) can best be summarized photo-documentary-style. There are so many places, so many stories, and so many pictures (some of which we never even took) that I could probably make 4 or 5 blogs (and probably should’ve done that). The best way, however, to document our summer is by summary of the places we’ve been.
Columbus, Georgia for my cousin Leslie Anne’s wedding to an awesome guy Scott --- absolutely one of THE most amazing wedding receptions I’ve ever been to, plus Patrick and I got some awesome time away without the girls family time with my aunts and cousins.
Oriental, NC, for our friends’ Doug and Melissa’s wedding (also a good adults-only weekend)
Virginia Beach for Grandi’s Retirement Party (WITH the girls, who had a blast with cousin Ninny Baby Harper)
We also hit up a wedding in Charlottesville for my co-clerk Dallas and Amy that was SUPER fun (and we REALLY appreciate Grandi watching the munchkins). Again, slack on the picture-taking . . . a theme of this blog for the year 2011, for sure.
Our next big adventure was a WEEK in Atlantic Beach, where we rented a place Misty and Luke. This trip definitely deserves its own blog post (and the 6 hour drive there could honestly be a post all its own), but the week can best be described as a super-fun-family-trip-but-not-quite-as-relaxing-as-it-used-to-be-spend-quality-time-with-the-munchkins-and-everything-revolves-around-naptime-where-we-learned-AL-doesn’t-like-fireworks (since that is what she talked about ALL week . . . “Fireworks are over, Mama.”). Luke is not a fan of fireworks either, and Anne Louise instantly gravitated towards him once she found that out (especially while we watched fireworks on TV). Spencer LOVED the beach and enjoyed splashing in the ocean. Her super cool chair even had a place for her to stretch her legs (since she can’t stand up 100% on her own) and was perfect for all the picnic lunches we had on the beach. We even got to spend some time with one of AL’s best school buddies – Graham (aka Graham-y) (and his awesome parents Allison and “Rowdy” – of course you’re a cool dad if you have a name like Rowdy).
This past weekend, we went to the mountain house with Nana and CC but FAILED to take any pictures (other than this awesome post, here). TOTALLY dropped the ball, I know. Other than our bazillion trips, we have really enjoyed our time together at home . . . doing nothing but spending time with each other. It honestly doesn’t get much better than that . . . .
